Brain Fart VI

There is a certain charm about chance. It's that one moment, unlooked for, that overwhelms you with a sense of clarity that wipes your slate clean of confusion. Catharsis. Tonight, one facebook friend put it right:

Have you ever hated yourself for staring at the phone?
Your whole life waiting for that ring to prove you're not alone?
Her words hit me. Down to my core.

  1. I know this line. It's from Make You Feel My Love. I featured it, with Adele's version in a previous post. It too, encapsulated my sentiment then.

  2. So I guess, everything is clear now? No more confusion, no more paradox. Just good old fashioned loneliness.

  3. Oh, I'm mistaken. Apologies. It's from P!nk's Glitter in the Air. Which I have also featured in my arias of the annum series. My bad.

  4. wow, welcome to my blog, everyone. you're all new faces, heh.

@cat: I read your last post, and I think I really get where that sigh is coming from. Let me join you in that ambiguous sigh. Sigh.

@red: That's okay, no harm done there. I'd never have known that it was from a song if you didn't say. I saw Pink's Grammy video for Glitter last year, but I have to admit that I wasn't paying much attention to the lyrics as much as the melody and performance then. But I love Pink!

@kane: for some reason, when I first read your comment, I stopped at 'now', and then I realized there's more and so reread it. And yes, there's no more paradox, at least on one aspect of my life, just loneliness. All-consuming loneliness.
